THIS is a message from the DeviantArt emergency brodcast system for starving artists!! otherwise acronymed for your ease, "D.A.E.B.S.S.A."! DAEBSA is just a thing I made up. Don't fret... BUT FRET!!!!!!! DDDD: The DeviantArt Emergency Broadcast System for Starving Artists is a journal entry PIMP OUT! If there are friends or deviants with so little money that they can't even purchase FOOD (yes, actually, this IS happening right now) and their only other way to raise a little bit of cash is to build a commision for their public, DAEBSSA is the method of choice for many deviants.

Still confused? Let me break it down for you. I'm sure you'll be needing this information for your own benefit.

There are 3 parties in the equation. Party "A", Party "y", and Party "x". Please excuse the totally incorrect punctuation I just did, as it was on purpose so none of you would be confused. Of course, now that you ARE thoroughly confused, ignore my last sentence refracting the sentence before it.

PARTY A is struggling to find work in the outside world. Yes, "A" has a job, yes, "A" has requested many hours and explained in great detail to this employer the financial breakdown of her living expenses and responsibilities, and how much she needs to be making in order to live. UNFORTUNATELY, NO!!! The employer is NOT upholding those highly attainable duties!!! So, in order to cover ONLY THE ROOF OVER PARTY "A"'S HEAD, EVERY DIME FROM THIS CHECK AND NEXT IS GOING TO RENT ALONE! Party "A" still has other needs that require payment, such as a phone bill, credit card, student loans, and of course --and this one is MOST important-- FOOD!!! YES THAT'S RIGHT, FOOD! How terribly upset would you be if every ounce of effort exerted into life reaped barely enough for rent and you had to starve for half a month to ensure that you could stay off the STREETS??? D: So to make ends meet and put food in her belly, Party A is opening commision slots! And boy howdy is she EVER a wonderous artist!

So now we realize Party A, Party A's desparation, and Party A's pain. Let us continue with the equation:
Party "y" are members of the DeviantArt community(and my, what a MARVELOUS community it is!) who know Party A, A's desparation, A's pain. Some of Party "y" who can help with this financial crisis are doing so, and some of Party "y" cannot, and some of Party "y" can do both! The exhibiting factor is that Party "y" knows Party "A" and are essentially extensions of her. For example, I am a Party "y". I do not have sufficient funds to directly assist her, but I do have enough friends and watchers who would (and ought to) be thrilled and impressed enough with her work to request even 1 little sketch, and so my job is to PIMP OUT and let everyone know. I'm the boss with the mega-phone.

So let's see here. Party A --in need of help--, party y --flat broke, knows lots of people with great taste in equally great art, and can draw a crowd--, party x.. hey.. THAT'S YOU!!

That's right community! You're in this equation too! You all are Party "x"! Mysterious, enigmatic, probably 14-24 years old, etc. etc.! You are the deviants selected in this magnificent quest to end Artist Hunger! (admit it, when this happens to you, you'll be needing some y's and x's, and with your generous art request, you will reciprocate good karma and those whom you've commisioned will in return commision you at your time of need) Party "x" is probably the most crucial and note-worthy of this equation, because like your variable infers, there may be only a few, or there may be several hundreds! but you are the key FACTOR! the whole thing could change if you're not in it, or it could change drastically once you arrive! You should feel very IMPORTANT! Without party "x"'s like all of you, wonderful artist's everywhere would starve to death!! You all know jiuge? And Wen-M? and luciole? or Syan? daekazu? houseki-chan?? elsevilla!! and so SO many more! Every one of these fabulous artists has needed extra cash to make life just a little less difficult, and you all have helped one time or another! There's no shame in commisioning and there CERTAINLY is no shame in requesting!

And now! A Deviant among you all is in need! Party A is =TheDark7. She is hosting a commision for an UNLIMITED amount of slots, with your choice of up to two in depth characters, complete with a background and border if you so choose! Sketches! Animals! Landscapes! OC or Fanart! Black&White or Color! The possibilities are endless!!!! You can request absolutely ANYTHING you want in the next 12 days and will be MOST GRATEFUL to you! Also --and here's the kicker-- she's only requesting payment of $10. TEN. MOTHER-FUNKCING. DOLLARS. Now, I know you all have some couch change. maybe a jar of pennies you could throw in a coin star, transfer to your bank account, and send to her. This is TEN DOLLARS. Ten Washingtons. Two Lincolns. Shit, a SINGLE JACKSON you guys! I know I don't need to ask you all to dig very deep. You can order WHATEVER you want, HOW EVER MANY you want, and she only is asking for TEN DOLLARS! That's a large 10-piece nugget meal at McDonald's with 2 apple pies... anyone that can "splurge" on that can more than assist an artist who CAN'T "splurge" on that. And, I doubt you could hang that deliciously tempting meal on your wall... for an extended period of time..... without seriously negative consequences.
